1. Mount Royal

2. Oka National Park

 

Here, several hikes of varying length and difficulty are on offer. The shortest trail takes 25 minutes, while the longest takes 4.5 hours. The more adventurous among you can try climbing to the summit to take in the superb panoramic views.

3. Mount Rigaud

 

This popular area boasts 27 kilometers of trails. One of the most beautiful hikes is the Le Haut-Lieu trail, which offers sensational views of the Adirondacks, the St. Lawrence River and St. Joseph's Oratory.

4. Mont-Tremblant

 

Much further from the city than the rest of the hikes we've suggested so far, Mont-Tremblant is well worth the detour. Come and lose yourself in the enchanting scenery and discover the full palette of colors that the Indian summer has to offer.

5. Mont Saint-Bruno National Park

 

This park has some twenty kilometers of trails organized around five lakes. If you go, take a stroll along Le Seigneurial. This trail takes you around the park's largest lake. This 7-kilometer hike will also take you past the historic Vieux-Moulin building and the three-arched bridge.

6. Mont-Saint-Hilaire

 

At Mont Saint-Hilaire, a variety of trails through a forest of trees often hundreds of years old are recommended. Don't hesitate to climb the various summits for breathtaking views of the region. We recommend you start with the Burned Hill trail, which takes you to the smallest summit (320 metres), and then follow the signs to the other summits, the highest of which rises to 415 metres.

7. Parc National du Mont-Orford

 

A real gem for hiking enthusiasts. The park boasts over 80 kilometers of trails. Here you'll find walks to suit all tastes and abilities. If you keep your eyes peeled, you might even spot some deer frolicking about.

8. Parc des îles de Boucherville

 

This park, made up of five islands, offers the perfect escape just 20 kilometers from Montreal. Sainte-Marguerite Island, the most popular, boasts a wealth of flora and fauna. In some places, you'll feel as if you're in the middle of a forest.

9. Île de la Visitation nature park

 

The park has just 8 kilometers of trails, which is a good start for novices or those reluctant to hike. Picnic areas are available, so don't hesitate to come for lunch and a short digestive hike.

10. Sutton Natural Environment Park

 

This park is well worth the 2-hour drive from Montreal. You'll discover dazzling landscapes in a rustic setting with waterfalls, lakes, ponds... There are trails ranging from 2.4 to 14 kilometers to admire this exceptional flora.
